Welcome to Fables! We hope you enjoy your visit, and we'd like to
address a few points to help explain the way we do things around here.
Copyrights:
The hamlet of Fables has purchased the right to First Publication from
each of the authors featured in the Great Hall. Copyright notices
accompany each work. All design, graphic art, and programming code is ©
1998 New World Order Productions.
Reproduction of any item on this site, in part or in whole, without the
written consent of the
copyright owner is strictly prohibited. Please respect the efforts of the
writers, programmers, and artists who have put this site together.
Permission has been granted to Fables by each author featured in the
Archives to reprint the featured work. That does
not imply that these works are in the public domain.
All stories told in the Crown & Thistle Inn
are our own retellings of traditional tales. The stories themselves are in the
public domain, but our particular versions of them are not. However, as it
would be so clearly wrong to deny anyone these traditions, we grant non-
exclusive permission to reprint the stories told in the
Crown & Thistle Inn to anyone who wants to, provided that the copyright notice always accompanies the text.
Submissions:
You must have the legal right to sell Fables the first publication rights to your story when you submit it to us. All that information is in our contract. For more information, see our submissions page.
Sponsorship:
Fables is a free site, and we intend to keep it that way. All our web
authoring is donated by the folks at New World
Order Productions, but bandwidth and original fiction cost money. We
therefore sell unobtrusive advertising space to help defray the costs. In the
event that we should start turning a profit, all proceeds will be immediately
donated to the Meredith Miller Foundation
, our favorite charitable trust.
