Back to the Keep

January 24, 2000:

Well, I am quite the happy little editor. So happy, in fact, that I'm closing out the Spring Issue. Please continue to send in submissions--at this point, I don't have any plans to close the zine--but also be aware that, unless a story happens to complement the Spring Issue perfectly, I'll be reading for the Summer Issue. A note to that effect will be appearing in the Submission Guidelines over the next couple of days, as part of a general face-lift that will not substantially change the content. The Spring Issue is stillto submissions of folktales for the Great Hall.

I'd like to encourage any artists out there to submit material for display. Alternatively, if anyone is interested in doing illustrations for the upcoming issue (and is this lead time or is this lead time?), let me take a look at samples of your work, tell me what sort of subjects you prefer, and I'll send you one of the stories so you can work your magic.

A couple of months ago, I'd mentioned wanting to include PDF versions of some stories for a little variety of layout. Due to lack of enthusiasm and time on my part (and apparent apathy throughout the rest of the universe), I'm going to drop that particular project.

That's all the news from Silver Lake Terrace, where there is no lake, the drainage ditch is decidedly not silver, and the terrace is actually more of a cul-de-sac.
