Michael Lohr

I live in the United States, up a lonely, haunted hollow in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I have published somewhere around 450 articles, short stories and poems.

My writing has appeared in such US magazines as the New York Review, Vermont Living, Vermont Ink, Gothic.net, Ghastly Magazine, Glyph, Moondance, Fables and Fantasy Folklore & Fairytales and in such British magazines such as Storm Constantine's Visionary Tongue, The Zone, Roadworks, Sci-Fright, The Dragon Chronicle and Sackcloth & Ashes.

I have also published spiritual and myth-associated articles and fiction in Mobius; The Journal of Social Change, The University of Iceland Folkloric Journal, The Phoenix; The International Journal of Heart and Spirit (Spain), and The Power; Native American Poetry Anthology Vol. II.

I currently write a mythology and folklore column, "A Bridge To The Ancients" for British author Storm Constantine's magazine, Visionary Tongue. I also am a freelance writer for David Hughes' British music magazine, Modern Dance. I also serve as the poetry editor for the online speculative fiction magazines, The Lost Ages Chronicle and Fables.

I am a contributing author to the paperback archeoastronomy publication, "Cascading Comets: Keys To Ancient Mysteries"--released by Stonehenge Viewpoint Press in 1998. I am also a contributing author to the forthcoming ancient history anthology, "Encyclopedia of the Ancient World" scheduled for release in early 2001, by Salem Press.

I am a member of the Mythopoeic Society, the Institute for the Noetic Sciences and the Association of Ancient Historians. I am also a Circle Member of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies.

Folklore has always been a cultural mechanism used to convey ideas. The mystic has held humanity in wonderment throughout the ages. But in our pragmatic, cynical world I fear that wonderment may soon be lost. Therefore it is so imperative that we seek out the wisdom of the ancients. It is vital that we stop and take a look at where we've been. Only then may we see a glimpse of where we are going.

Seek the truth and find your way.
