The Greater Fool
One day, the tail of a snake grew dissatisfied with its position. "Oh head!" it called. "Why is it that you are the one to lead, while I am dragged through the dirt behind you?"
"That is just the way of things," the head replied.
But the tail continued to complain. "Let me lead, please, just this once," it insisted, and eventually the head agreed.
So the tail lead, but it did not have eyes or tongue to sense its way, so it did not notice the hole which lay in its path. The tail--followed by the head--fell in.
"You are a fool!" the head told the tail. "You lead us into a pit!"
"Maybe," the tail replied. "But you followed me, so that makes you the greater fool."
