Crispin Blunt, Conservative Member of Parliament for Reigate, is her Uncle and her famous boyfriend of two years is singer Michael Buble, who she lives with in her home in Vancouver. The two met and fell in love after meeting backstage at one of his concerts.
Emily was born on February 23rd 1983. She loves to work out with a punching bag to stay fit.
She is now a successful Golden Globe winning actress made famous for her role in a theatre production of ‘The Royal Family’ by director Peter Hall. Her role in this later won her The Evening Standard Theatre Award for best newcomer in 2003.
Blunt’s British TV debut first came when she starred in a show about the life of Boudica, an ancient British warrior-queen who fought the Romans. She then moved on to star in the British film ‘My Summer of Love’ in 2004 – a dramatic story set in the English countryside telling of one girl’s Summer of deception and lesbian love. For her role in this she received an Evening Standard British Film award shared with co-star Nathalie Press.
Without doubt however, the role that has catapulted her into stardom recently, was her part in the 2006 hit Hollywood film ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ alongside Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. Blunt plays Meryl Streep’s arrogant and stuck up assistant left in charge to show Anne Hathaway’s character the ropes of her job before she leaves. Her refusal to lose weight for the film put her in good stead with various different organisations and gained her a big fan base with women who respected and admired her decision. Entertainment Weekly went on to name Emily ‘Best Female Scene-Stealer’ in their end-of-summer special issue that year.
Emily Blunt has several different roles lined up for the future, her next project is rumoured to be alongside Amy Adams (Cruel Intentions 2, Smallville, Catch me if you can) in the movie ‘Sunshine Cleaning’ and later in an adaptation of the novel ‘Cheerful Weather for the Wedding’ so keep an eye out for this beautiful British actress back on your screens again in the near future!
