Karen Shibuya has lived in upstate New York, Colorado, Australia, and now
calls Hawai'i home. She shares her life with her True Love and her
naughty-spawn cats. In various guises, she's a writer, a book reviewer, an
Internet addict, a movie maven, a child of the night, and She Who Must be
Obeyed.
Karen has won several poetry contests, beginning at age 7 in the Albany
Times-Union. More recently, she has taken first place in contests
sponsored by Inscriptions Magazine and Pulp Eternity. Her
poetry has
been featured in Inscriptions Magazine, Vampire Dan's Story Emporium,
The Book Lover's Haven, The Romantic Bower, and Waxing and
Waning.
Karen has received Honorable Mentions from the L. Ron Hubbard Writers of
the Future Contest and The Harrow Halloween 2001 contest for her
short
stories. In addition, her stories have been published in Fantasy,
Folklore
and Fairytales, Rogue Worlds, and forthcoming from Bloodfetish
and
