The eaters of the dead
Pray before they feed.

It is sacrosanct,
The ceremony, a formality
They insist on

Before they rip
From bone to bone
The flesh

With a ferocity
Stirred by
Millenia of hunger

The carnage
Toppling a civilization
Once again.
